Introducing our newest Chardonnay from California's highly acclaimed Monterey County. The 2015 vintage is barrel fermented in American oak barrels, resulting in rich and creamy mouth feel, unique to Cupcake Vineyards.
Monterey County is the perfect region for our Chardonnay grapes. Monterey's long valley has a lot of coastal influence; the fog rolling settling in the morning and warmth from the afternoon sun results in complex and well balanced grapes. The grapes also undergo a partial malolactic fermentation to impart a rich buttery flavor with nuances of toasted oak without overpowering the fruit. The barrel fermentation and extended time sur lie help to achieve a full, soft and creamy body.
Pair this wine with a specialty cheese and fruit platter, pan seared trout with mushroom risotto.
